About Suzy Simons of Eversure HR
I’m a wife, mum to three children, step-mum to two, and a very proud grandma to five. I’ve lived in this area all my life — my father’s parents were based in Buckingham, while my mother came to the UK from Switzerland to train as a nurse at Stoke Mandeville. It was whilst there she met and later married my father.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are the Christmases we spent with my grandparents in Switzerland — a truly special time filled with family traditions, snow, and that magical winter feeling that stays with you forever.
At the end of 2024, I was made redundant when the company I worked for decided to close its UK operation. While that was a big moment of change, I quickly realised I wasn’t quite ready to put my feet up. I still had a lot of energy, experience, and passion for supporting people and organisations through the very human side of work.
So, I took the leap from corporate life into consultancy — and that’s how Eversure HR was born. The name comes from Evershaw, the farm I grew up on, a place full of happy memories. It felt only right to carry that name into this next chapter of my working life.
Being a mum — and in my case a grandma too — life can often feel like a constant juggling act. When I’m not working, I love walking, travelling, dabbling in interior design, reading, and spending time socialising with my many good friends.
What do you enjoy most about business networking?
Anyone who knows me well will know that business networking meetings are completely outside my comfort zone. That said, what I’ve come to enjoy most is the genuine connection — the conversations, shared experiences, and the reassurance that so many of us are navigating similar challenges, just at different stages.
Why did Eversure HR join that networking group?
Quite simply, because it felt right.
The group is genuinely welcoming, friendly, and inclusive — and while I’ve met lovely people in other networking groups too, sometimes you just know when you’ve found your people.
It’s a bit like finding a comfortable pair of shoes. You can try lots on — some are fine, some pinch, some look great but don’t quite feel right. And then one day, you find the pair that fits perfectly.
That’s exactly how it felt joining this networking group.
